Xiaomi gets first-quarter sales boost as smartphone demand rebounds

XIA

(Reuters) - Xiaomi Corp reported a 13.6% rise in first-quarter revenue on Wednesday, beating estimates, as the Chinese smartphone maker sold more phones and benefited from sales of its higher-priced 5G models. The company managed to boost sales despite the impact of the coronavirus, which rattled supply chains and dampened overall smartphone demand. "Our production in mainland China has largely resumed, and smartphone demand has rebounded quickly," the company said in its first-quarter earnings release. Sales in the first quarter of 2020 rose to 49.7 billion yuan ($7.00 billion) from 43.76 billion yuan in the same period prior year, beating analyst expectations of 47.86 billion yuan.

Redmi Note 9 and global Note 9 Pro announced - comments

XIA

BegineR, 37 minutes agoIn my opinion, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (global version) is better. Because of: it have Android... more.. Also, Note 9 Pro have 520mAh bigger battery than Note 8 Pro in same thickness, so thats a also plus, i guess battery will be good as in the Note 9s (114 endurance rating, and after couple of MIUI updates, even better). It have, more efficient SoC, and it's a Qualcomm (G cam, more versions, more ROMs, better support on XDA and similar sites), it have faster charger in the box (39w, Note 8 Pro, had/have 18w). It have (in my opinion)_ more modern aspect ratio 20:9 (N8P 19:9). And, about pricing, like all Xiaomi phones, now in this month, yes maybe it will be more, than 250 euros, but in a middle of next month, the price will drop under 200 euros.. (At least on online sites, like Aliexpress, Gearbest etc). A Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro with the same name and their respective feature sets across the world would make life so much easier. As someone with amateur interest in tech, I can barely keep track of their plethora of choices.

Realme Band review: Just buy a Xiaomi Mi Band 4

XIA

It comes as no surprise then that arch-nemesis Realme decided to enter the fray with its own take on the affordable fitness tracker. But what good is a fitness tracker if it doesn’t do its job accurately? At 20g, this is hands down one of the lightest fitness trackers I’ve tried out; you barely notice it on your wrist as you go about your day. It isn’t quite as long-lasting as the Mi Band 4, but I suppose that’s a concession you have to make to hit the low price point. Instead, you have to make do with an accelerometer, which is good enough for step tracking but not much more. If your goal is to up your daily step count, the Realme Band should suffice.
