The financial landscape today is poised to change, bigly, as Donald Trump will be sworn in as the next President of the United States. In doing so, markets will now have one additional barometer to follow, i.e. Trump’s twitter feed, which has been the source of much attention and publicity over a long campaign.
UK-based fintech group Trading.co.uk has engineered a new app that is helping generate trade alerts for stock shares, which will move on Trump’s social media comments. Trump’s Twitter feed has regularly featured a litany of companies, more importantly providing clues directly into the mind of the man himself.

Just in time for his inauguration, London-based fintech firm Trading.co.uk is launching an app that will generate trading alerts for shares based on comments made on social media by Donald Trump.
Keeping one eye on the U.S. President-elect's personal Twitter feed has become a regular pastime for the fund managers and traders who invest billions of dollars daily on world stock, currency and commodity markets.

Trading.co.uk chief Gareth Mann said the Trump signal generator used artificial intelligence technology to differentiate between tweets or other messages that, for example, just mention Boeing and those liable to move markets.
"It is impact analysis," he said. "We can let you know when Trump tweets. We can let you know when he mentions a particular stock, or when he mentions a stock and a country. But if he just says he's riding on a Boeing 747 the system will do nothing."

Digital Contact Eyes Broker Clients for Custom News Feeds

The vendor's product will make it possible for retail brokers to create customized news feed for clients, based on their own data.
Digital Contact chief executive Gareth Mann says the vendor was first approached by two brokers─a UK-based broker that focuses on contracts for difference, spreads and equities trading, and a US equities broker─who have now become pilot testers of the data.
Mann says the partners will onboard the data into their platforms and research products to support "faster, more intelligent decision making" by clients.
