Choice downtown San Jose site near Google village up for sale

SAN JOSE — A choice site in downtown San Jose that’s close to Google’s proposed transit village is up for sale and might accommodate a tower that could soar 300 feet skyward, the sellers said Monday. The property, located on Delmas Avenue between Park Avenue and West San Carlos Street, is the result of an assembly of a dozen properties that have coalesced into a single large development site near the Diridon train station. “The 2.2-acre site is well positioned to be an influential and transformative part of the continued build out of the Diridon Station Area,” said Dominic Boitano, senior project manager for property owner Park Delmas Investors, an affiliate of Robson Homes. Mountain View-based Google has proposed a transit village of office buildings, homes, shops and restaurants in downtown San Jose where 25,000 people could work, including 15,000 to 20,000 of the search giant’s employees.
